Back in school, you wrote the name of that band or that boy you liked in your notebook, and surrounded it with hearts. It was easy to get your message out.
Now, everything has become so complicated – and expensive – and walking around town with a sandwich board doesn't really cut it anymore. You know you need a website or marketing material that's a little more sophisticated than a message on a t-shirt, but you're not willing to give up those little things that make you special and start looking like everyone else.
You need design.
You're a musician – you need cool on a budget that translates into insignia for your tribe.
As a life coach, your website needs to reassure clients that you're experienced, professional and approachable.
Your hotel is the perfect place for a romantic getaway, a business meeting, or for fun-loving friends. Is your brochure telling the whole story?
None of this just happens – engaging design is a deliberate and carefully calibrated art. Of course, if a message on a t-shirt is the perfect way to promote your business, that can be arranged too.

Design is visual communication. A distinct visual identity tells people who you are, where you're coming from and whether they want to know more. You get just a few seconds to make your mark so you need an identity that intrigues and engages in the blink of an eye.
Tree in the Sky provides professional design services for individuals and smaller businesses who need creative solutions without spending a fortune. I work with you to create an image and a design signature that's all your own, and that fits your budget as snugly as your personality.
When you work with me, you get:
What you definitely won't get:

Discovery
I work collaboratively with my clients to make sure they get what they'll love, as well as what they need - so thispartof the process is all about communication. I'll talk about you, your business, what you need to achieve, and how design will clarify, support, and achieve your goals.
Your design has its roots in this conversation so I'll take the time to really understand the details and flesh outa creative brief that captures the requirements and the personality of the project.
Once I have an understanding of the scope, your style, and your budget, I will create an estimate that outlines theproject,as well as a cost estimate.
Preparing the Ground
Great – you love what I'm suggesting and you're happy with the budget and the timeframe. This is when we both sign an agreement (which covers payment terms, a detailed timeline and production schedule, deliverables, and so on). In addition to this signed agreement, I require a non-refundable deposit so that I can schedule your project, and get to work. For more details, please read through my studio policies.
Germination
I'll spend some time collecting, researching, and sifting through information to develop the unique details that will grow into your visual identity. You will need to supply any existing material you have and the content for your stationery, website or print piece.
If you're not sure of what you need, or don't have any existing material, I can call on my talented network of other creative professionals. I love to work with and promote other freelancers and small businesses, so if you need any help with copywriting, custom illustration, or custom web programming, I will likely know a collaborator for your unique needs.
Encouraging the Seedlings
In keeping with my collaborative approach, I like to keep the conversation going throughout the creative design process. I'll update you on my progress, and ask and answer questions that allow me to refine the sketching and storyboarding process.
Pruning and Shaping
We've explored some design concepts and you've provided me with some feedback, and we've been through several revision rounds. This is when I work to trim and shape the design sketches into a polished final project.
All projects are different, and some will need more iterations than others. For more information on my revisions policies, please read through my studio policies.
The Finished Product
Crack open the champagne! The creative work is done and you now have a big smile and an original, customized, and effectivedesign that you can proudly show the world.
Care and Nurture
Here at Tree in the Sky, I don't just leave the project on your doorstep and run - if you need any help, want to ask questions, or have an idea for a new project, don't hesitate to contact me!
Additional revisions that weren't included in the original estimate will be charged at my standard revisions rate, or as a whole new project, depending on the amount of changes required. See my studio policies for more information.
